For the past two decades, Sarah has worked to advance reproductive freedom, gender equity, and civil and human rights. She has drafted legislation, shaped federal regulations, devised compelling advocacy and communications campaigns, built and managed effective coalitions, developed innovative policy frameworks, and mobilized constituencies to action. Through SLL Strategies, Sarah deploys her expertise, insight, and passion for progressive change to help mission-driven organizations further their goals.

Most recently, Sarah served as Vice President for Reproductive Health and Rights at the National Partnership for Women & Families, a leading multi-issue women’s rights organization, and continues to serve as a senior advisor. As Vice President for Reproductive Health and Rights, she led a team of skilled policy professionals in designing and implementing a bold vision for advancing access to abortion through legislative and regulatory advocacy, public education, and culture change.

Previously, through roles at the American Civil Liberties Union, Center for Reproductive Rights, Natural Resources Defense Council, and Religious Action Center for Reform Judaism, Sarah worked to advance the rights of pregnant workers, push back against religious refusals, promote ratification of international human rights treaties, address environmental degradation, and advocate against the right-wing takeover of the courts. Her breadth of issue expertise, coupled with her deep connections across the progressive movement, enable Sarah to serve her clients with seasoned judgment, access to an extensive network, and an informed, fresh perspective.

Sarah is the author of numerous op-eds, reports, and academic articles on abortion, contraception, and other reproductive health and rights issues. Her policy observations and analyses have been heard on NPR and quoted in a number of media outlets including the New York Times, Washington Post and Associated Press.

Sarah graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Arts in American studies. She earned her law degree from Yale Law School, where she was symposium and online editor for the Yale Law Journal, and submissions editor for the Yale Journal of Law and Feminism.

After law school, Sarah clerked for the Honorable Nancy Gertner of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the Honorable Richard Paez of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She previously served on the Yale Law School Association Executive Committee, and is a current member of the board of directors of the Arizona Family Health Partnership.

Sarah lives with her husband in sunny Tucson, Arizona. They're the proud parents of two olive and three citrus trees.
